Tips & Tricks for Toxin-free Cleaning

If you haven't tried cleaning with essential oils yet, you've got to try it! Many common household cleaners contain harmful toxins that can adversely affect your family's health. Making the switch to natural options will help reduce your toxic load, improve respiratory function, and even boost immune health!

If you've got mold in the bathroom or kitchen, try using Oregano, Melaleuca, and Thyme in a spray bottle of distilled water and a few tablespoons of baking soda. Simply spray and wipe!

If you're looking for non-toxic options to clean all of the surfaces in your home, try dōTERRA's OnGuard Cleaning Concentrate. We use this to clean everything in our house, from the kitchen to the bathrooms, and even floors! This powerful and purifying concentrate makes eighteen to twenty 8-ounce spray bottles, so it lasts us quite a long time. I feel great asking my kids to help me clean, because I know the ingredients won't hurt them, and it will even boost their immune systems while they clean.

How about some natural and safe cleaning help in the laundry room? dōTERRA's all natural OnGuard Laundry Detergent is a great way to get your clothes clean while keeping your family and the environment safe from harmful chemicals. I also like to use white vinegar, a bit of baking soda, and a couple drops of Purify in the softener compartment in place of chemical-laden laundry softener. You can also add a few drops of an essential oil such as Lavender or Eucalyptus to a couple of wool dryer balls and get rid of those dryer sheets that are full of harmful chemicals.

What about that baked-on food splattered all over the inside of the microwave? Try mixing up this recipe in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe with a warm, damp cloth. You'll feel so accomplished when your microwave sparkles!

My all-time favorite dee-cleaning scrub is this DIY "soft scrub" that truly works wonders on showers, sinks, tubs, toilets, and tile. I've included a few more ideas for you below, and you can learn even more from dōTERRA's website.
