Since Clove has analgesic properties, we have used it successfully (diluted of course) to stop mouth and lip discomfort when my girls bump their mouths playing around!!!
Clove is the main oil used in [my son's] braces support roller. I used 7 drops each of Clove, White Fir, Roman Chamomile, and Lavender in a 10mL roller and topped with FCO [Fractionated Coconut Oil]. He used it along his jawline and cheeks as needed.
I diluted with water and used as a mouth rinse. I had a tooth that was bothering me and the Clove helped until I could get to the dentist.
For my daughter's braces, AND I put a drop in 1 tsp coconut oil and pull [swish] for 20 minutes if I have tooth discomfort or sensitivity.
My husband has used it on a cotton swab and would put on his sore tooth.
I use 1 drop clove oil for thyroid support (along with other oils). I also use 1 drop of clove oil for tooth discomfort.
I used in a mouth rinse for a sore under my tongue.
I use it in my immune support roller and in my chai tea, too.
I use it for pulling the kiddos teeth. Sophia used it at the orthodontist. It is great for tooth sensitivity. I also spray it to keep away wasps. I spray on the porch and in the mailbox.
I mix with Cinnamon and Wild Orange essential oils, stir into just melted coconut oil (not too hot!) and pour into mini/muffin paper cups. Refrigerate until firm. I add to oatmeal, along with powdered cinnamon, maple flavoring, and a little xylitol. I also use these "disks" for oil pulling. You can buy the seasonal mini-muffin paper cups and give as gifts in a glass candy jar with lid. P.S. I store in the fridge in summer months!
I am currently using it diluted on my temples & sometimes the back of my neck for head tension behind one of my eyes.
It's great mosquito repellent. I remember when I was little, Mom was boiling cloves and then rubbing that mix on all of us.
I've used it to numb itchy bug bites as well as to ease discomfort around the affected area of a painful cut. I also LOVE to diffuse it with OnGuard, Cinnamon, and Cedarwood. It makes such a yummy, spicy, woody combination.
My daughter did a science experiment with Clove. She tested bacterial growth against Clove, Oregano, Rosemary, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, and bleach. Clove had the fewest spots of growth after 5 days.
